I'm trying to import issues into my Jira project using the Import Issues from CSV tool, but I keep encountering the same fatal error.

What I've done so far:

  • I confirmed that the Issue Type in my CSV matches the issue type configured in my project (Input).
  • I tried using both the name (Input) and the Issue Type ID (10127) in the CSV.
  • I ensured the Issue Type exists and is properly associated with the project's Issue Type Scheme.
  • I removed the Issue Type column entirely to let Jira assign the default issue type automatically.

Hi Victor - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Make sure the value in your CSV is EXACTLY like the value in Jira. I prefer to copy from Jira and paste into the CSV. Sometimes there is a trailing space after the value in the CSV, so check that.  But the name should work fine - no need to the the ID. Are you doing multiple different Issue Types in the same CSV? Are they parent/child relationships?

And are you still getting the error when you remove the column and just let Jira use the default issue type?
