Extremely irritating Slowness in UI when addressing other users

I'm experiencing extreme slowdown in Jira. What I've notices is that when I use @ to message a user it takes very long before it populates the correct user.

Are others experiencing the same issue? If so, and it persists, then I suggest reaching out to Atlassian support directly as they can log into you instance and inspect assuming you grant access.

I have been experiencing this issue frequently on my instance for months and have opened several tickets with Atlassian.  I still have tickets open.
