Extra field to open from link external application

Hi

I have issue: I want to add filed in Jira, where I paste link, and after click to this link the external application will be opened: f.e. Thunderbird.

Maybe somebody know how to do?

You can put things like that into url fields, but the external application opening relies on the settings in your browser and operating system. it's nothing to do with Jira.  Non-standard urls are going to need to be understood by the browser you are on.

If, for example, you use a mailto: url, you will probably get Thunderbird.  If I do it on my main computer, I'll get Rainloop.  On the work machine, Mail.
