Exporting from Jira v5.0.2 as Excel

Hello all,

I'm trying to export a sample of data to test importing it to another ticketing system as an XL or CSV file. However, when I try to export the data from Jira v5.0.2 as an Excel file with all fields, the comments in the Activity section, are missing entirely. This problem occurs every time I try to export data as an Excel file, and has occurred on different days. I first tried exporting as an Excel file in November, and I checked last week to see if the problem was still occurring. It does not occur when exporting data as XML, the comments are included in that format.  

At this point, we need about 100 tickets to test. Later, we will need to export about 4000 total from two different projects. 

I stumbled onto Midori's Better Excel Exporter for Jira plug-in, but their earliest version is compatible with v6 of Jira. I did contact them to see if they thought it would be worth trying. I am also contacting xpand-it to see make sure that the version of their Xporter plug-in that is compatible with Jira v5.0.2 can export as an Excel file. But in the mean time, and in case those two options don't pan out, I would like to see if anyone has any ideas.
