hi, so we are just trying out the free version of jira for our team. We are going to get a corporate license soon for jira cloud and i was wondering if we can export the data from the free version of jira to the cloud version?
Hello @Paroz Mehta,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
It's possible to migrate between Jira Cloud sites. There is an option that you can create a backup and then import it to the new site.
As Jack mentioned, you can just upgrade your Free plan to Standard and you can also change the main billing and technical contacts if necessary.
In case your company needs to use the same domain, I would suggest you just upgrade your existing site to Standard. If your company wants a new domain, the best option would be to create a brand new site and import the backup, since currently it's not supported to change the domain of Cloud sites.
If you have any other questions regarding this matter, please let us know.
Regards,
Angélica
you certainly can but it would be much easier just to upgrade your free instance to standard/premium. you can always delete test projects/issues if there is even a need to do so but I recommend keeping test projects around for future testing.
To change your plan simply click on the cog (upper right) and then Billing > Manage subscriptions. In this screen you can click Change plans.

hi Jack, thank you for replying. The thing is, my company is going to get the Jira cloud. The team is currently using the free version. So it will not me on my account. Its exporting the project data from my account to the company Jira cloud platform. would this be done with the XLS file?
