Exporting & importing workflows

If the only way to export a workflow from one Jira instance and import it to another is to actually upload the workflow to the Marketplace and then download it from the Marketplace (this IS the case, correct?), then can I DELETE it from the Marketplace when I've completed the import/export?

Hi @Suzanne Raphael, we faced similar problems when configuring numerous workflows in a sandbox and manually replicating them in our production Jira.

We found the new app Workflow Wizard, with this app you can export workflows from any Jira Cloud instance and import them into the same or another instance, including all workflow data such as app functions etc. Also, you can create backups of your workflows and save them locally.

Here is the documentation: documentation

It's really effortless to use, try it out!

Best Regards,

Jinsi

Yes, you can usually remove it afterward, but I'd recommend confirming whether any dependencies or references remain in the target instance before deleting it from the Marketplace.

Hi @Suzanne Raphael

An option to consider for what you want to do is to backup the workflow in question using the Revyz Data Manager for Jira from one site and clone the workflow into another site.

The Revyz Data Manager helps Jira Administrators in addressing the following:

  • Manage | Cloud 2 Cloud data cloning
    • sandbox to prod | site consolidation
  • Protect | Backup & Restore
    • automatic daily backups & granular data restores
  • Analyze | Jira site analytics for the admin
    • config object analytics, issue deletions, etc..
  • Optimize | Jira site optimization
    • confidently delete unused config

Hi @Suzanne Raphael

Please feel free to block time on my calendar for a demo. Our documentation is running behind on all the feature updates we have been doing.

Thank you

Vish
