Export / backup manager not shown in standalone installation after import

Janusz Mordarski
February 26, 2013

I created new standalone server and used 'Import data' option to retrieve all projects and users from XML ondemand JIRA backup. There is no way to export data from standalone server now. I'm logged in as an administrator.

You may be logging in with your OnDemand account which is set as a jira-administrator. The OnDemand instance has one more level of admin above your regular jira-administrator group. Try logging in with the OnDemand sysadmin account in your standalone instance. This should give you all the missing functionality in the Administration screen. (sysadmin/sysadmin)

Hi Janusz,

Try to check if your group is the system administrator of the instance in Global Permission? Only system administrator can access the backup and restore option:

I'm not sure if this is the case, but is very probable that you have made your OnDemand backup using OnDemand Backup Manager, a plugin that is not included on standalone instances. To proceed with the backup of your standalone instance you have to proceed with the regular JIRA instructions: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Backing+Up+Data
