Existing Subtasks transition to backlog after creation of new Subtasks

I noticed the following weird behavior. Our workflow has the following statuses: Backlog, Todo, In Progress, In Review, and Done. Any status can transition to any other status.

I have a Story with multiple existing child issues (Subtasks), all of which are "In progress". I created a new Subtask as a child issue of the same Story, but immediately afterwards, ALL of the existing Subtasks transitioned to "Backlog". How do I prevent this from happening?

Thanks!

Hi @Jiuguang Wang and welcome to the community,

You have to see if any rule or post function triggers this transition. Jira does not transition issues automatically. Can you see the history of the transitioned subtasks and verify any movement?
