Every time I try to launch Jira I see the HTTP 503 error.

Hi Team,

I have Installed Jira software and Confluence on the Same Machine. Initially I installed Jira, everything was working well . Later i Installed Confluence on the same Machine and since then i have started seeing problems. I think both of them are using the Same port number and are causing some problems. Is there way to change the default ports ?

Can you please send me the instructions on how to  fix this problem permanently and use both the Jira and Confluence on the Same machine.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks,

Chand.

Confluence is using 8090 as the default port. Whereas, Jira is using 8080 as the default port number for the application.

Perhaps you can refer to the following documentation on how to change the default port in the application if needed.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/changing-port-that-your-atlassian-application-listens-on-834000041.html

I would suggest you to check on the application log or submit a support request to Atlassian for further assistance.

Victor,

Thank you for replying.

Yes the Connector port="8080" (for Jira) as per server.XML

Connector port="8090"  (for Conflence).

Can Jira and Confluence be installed and Run parallel on the same machine ?

Yes, however it is NOT advisable as the applications will be sharing the resources (CPU and memory) on the same machine/server.
