Hi,
I am getting the following error when I attempt to create a Test Execution from a Test Plan:
Test Execution contains Required Fields
The Test Execution contains required field please use the Jira create issue dialogue to create the new Test Execution
Any advice on the root cause of this error?
Hitting same problem on Xray cloud. Does anyone know how to determine which fields is causing it?
Not being able to create executions from within the plan causes us to have extra steps, e.g. have to add the tests/tests sets then have to add the execution to the plan...
Thanks,
Paul
Hi @PaulS
If you have required fields, the Xray dialog cannot fill them with information, so it cannot create the Test Execution.
Please click on the link provided in the warning message, you'll be redirected to the Create Jira Issue dialog, and from there, you can create the Test Execution from the Jira dialog with the required fields.
If you want to find which fields are required, please go into the Project settings and then choose the option Fields, then on the right side, close to the top you should have an option to Edit. In the Edit option, you should be able to see which are required.
Thank you.
Kind regards,

Hi @Tim Williams and @Krishnan Govindarajan
This happens when you have required/mandatory fields in your projects.
In the Test Plan, it opens an Xray dialog, but due to the Cloud Architecture, Xray cannot add other Jira fields. Because of this, if you have required fields, the Xray dialog cannot fill them with information, so it cannot create the Test Execution.
Please click on the link provided in the warning message, you'll be redirected to the Create Jira Issue dialog, and from there, you can create the Test Execution from the Jira dialog with the required fields.

Thanks very much. I created a new field configuration for some of the Xray issue types.

Hi @Rogério Paiva - Xray Xporter ,
I have a similar error creating Test Plan and Test Execution. There is nothing for me to click on the warning message.

I am also getting the same error, when I check the dialog I see following fields marked as compulsory:
Rest of the fields are optional, not sure which field is causing to throw this error.
