Error Saving Work Type

When trying to save a work-type, I get the error:

"We couldn’t save your changes
We couldn’t update the “General Task” issue type. Refresh and try again."
The error seems to arise after attempting to add and save a second custom label field.  I am able to add an initial label field and successfully save, but I consistently get the error after any subsequent changes.
I've tried:
- refreshing;
- clearing browser cache;
- different browser;
- different computer;
- checked 256 char limit;
After Initially failing to save, it will generally hang on saving after clicking 'save changes' (Save Changes greyed out with waiting symbol).
Any ideas or solutions I should try or is this a bug?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've since resolved the error. It was actually hitting a 256 character limit. While I understood the limit on individual labels, I was not aware a 'total character limit' applies when batch saving labels, due to the way Jira handles batch label saving as a single combined string.

The work around was of course just to save a smaller batch of labels at a time with a combined <256 character total each save.
