Epic link and epic name empty when i import from jira

Deleted user July 28, 2021

When I look at the advanced issue search (I have added all columns with Epic in the title), none of the Epic columns display /populate values

Both Epic link & Parent link blank

EPic link and parent link blank.JPG

Backlog shows the Epic labels correctly

backlog shows epic label.JPG

Also when i try to add Epic link for a user story, it doesn't show all values to be selected

Can you please help

Thanks in advance

Hi @[deleted]

It seems you are using a Team Managed project, and the field you should look for is "Parent"

Epic Link and Name are used in Company Managed projects.

Check if this helps you.

Hi @Patricia Francezi

We have moved to company managed projects now
Still not able to fetch the epic names when we export the user stories

Epic link column has epic names but when we export, epic link is blank, can you please confirm if there is specific query to used or additional column

I have added parent & Epic link, it only helps with epic jira reference but not names

Awaiting response. thanks

Hi @[deleted]

Understood your problem... In fact, there will be no "Epic Names" associated with different issue types. This field is specific to Epic issue types issues, that's why when you download you see the blank information.

From advanced search, you can see the "visual" result of the Epic Link - meaning - you see the name and color of the epic print.
No way to export directly - I would suggest you have your excel doing a new column based on "VLOOKUP" or power query to "print" the epic name... No other way :(
