Epic label color background removed from board cards — please bring it back!

Hi community! 👋

After a recent Jira update, the epic label on board cards lost its colored background. What used to be a solid colored tag (e.g., orange for "Governance", purple for "Efficiency") is now just a white/transparent tag with colored text.

This change significantly hurts readability and visual scanning on the board. The colored background was one of the most useful visual cues to quickly identify which epic a card belongs to — especially on large boards with many issues.

Is there any way to restore the old behavior? If not, I'd like to formally request this as a UI regression to be reverted.

This a rehash of similar change from a year+ back that was eventually rolled back.  I agree with you, its making epic labels and statuses less visible, impactful and harder to read.  Not a fan of this UX decision.
