Hey Everyone,
I have created a scrum board and need to show the list of EPICs that I have created in the board along with the stories. However, the epic are not showing in the boards. but works fine with the same search query which is as below,
My search query:
project = webapp AND component = "Backend" AND status not in (Resolved, Closed, Done) ORDER BY Rank ASC
screenshot attached for board and configurations. I dont have any sub filters, no swimlanes set, and nothing custom except defaults on board creation. I also tried by including type = epic in the search filter and it does not work.
Please help me sleep peacefully in my weekends guys! Thanks in advance.
Hi @Test That -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Is the Sprint field set for the Epics? If not, they will not display on the board as issues. Instead, they may show as indicators on each of their child issues which are in the sprint.
Does the Components field for each Epic contain "Backend" as that is part of your filter? Same thing for the Status field and the values shown in the filter.
Kind regards,
Bill
Thanks for your response. I tried by adding sprint value and it still does not show up. Yes I have added the component for all the epic and necessary values. Again, the search query is working fine and showing all the epic in results while its just not showing up in the board. In the screenshot of the board, you can see the story(green icon), likewise I can see bug and task but I cant see epic as an option in the small dropdown. Attaching the screenshot of query result. Dont know if its a bug or im doing something wrong here.

Sorry, I just noticed you are using Jira Data Center. I believe Epics can only display on a Kanban board for that version.
