Epic estimate is zero

John Charnley April 24, 2019

We've broken something.

The epic drop-down in the epics panel shows a zero value, despite all linked stories having >0 story points.

We've been setting the JIRA configuration for a while now (including changing issue types, amending fields and screens, workflow etc.) and something has stopped this aggregation from working properly.  It works fine on another JIRA install we have access to.

We've tried resetting the estimation settings for the board (and creating a new board) - this works fine if we choose "issue count" but nothing else.  Also, the story point estimate on the epic report is showing zero for each issue.

Basically, we want to reset pretty much everything without losing all the data.

Can anyone suggest a direction for investigation, please?

The issue was a problem with the configuration of the "Story points" field, which wasn't "applicable" to all of our projects.
