Hi
I am trying to create a Issue Statistics gadget setup on my Dashboard to show number of Issues against Epic Name.
But for some reason I don't see the Epic Name option in the drop down. When checked with JIRA admin, epic name is in locked mode and believed to be added by default.
Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong? I am using the JIRA version 7.10.0
Cheers
Thanks for your response.
I believe epic link is something given to a user story, so that epic & users stories can be linked.
I am trying to find the number of user stories that are associated with Epic. If I use epic link as statistic type in 'Issue Statistic gadget', some of the epic fall under "None" category.
In my case, some of the epics are shown under "None" category and also gets listed on its own in the dashboard.
Not sure whether the given details are sufficient enough, but if anyone had come across similar issue, please let me know how it can handled. Thanks.
Epic Name doesn’t make sense for statistics gadget since the epic “name” is singular. You can use “epic link” since it shows the number of issues (and percentage) linked to an epic.

Epic Name is shorthand name for the Epic
Epic Link is the name used to link a child (Story/Task) to the Epic.
Here is a good read on this - epic-name-vs-epic-link
If you wish to exclude the "none" then include "...AND "epic link" is not Empty..."

The Epic link is a text field, not a "countable" one, so it can't be used by the issue statistics gadget.
