Enabling Initiatives within Advanced roadmaps not giving true heirchy

Just upgraded to premium to get access to Advanced Roadmaps is that I can enable more levels above the Epic as detailed here

I was surprised to find that the "initiative" level which I thought sits above the epic was not automatically available and you had to configure it yourself.

I was doubly suprised to find that even after I configured initiatives as detailed above it seems to be just another issue type that does not have actual hierarchy above the epic. It just sits there like another standard issue type.

Am I missing anything?  Is anyone else going thorug this?

Yes, it is just another standard issue type, but I think it's great, because you have a variability in your configuration.

Let's say you've created Initiative as a new issue type, so your hierarchy looks like this:

Initiative -> Epic -> Standard issue types -> Sub-task issue types

Now, if you go to some Epic issue, you should be able to set the parent issue in the field Parent Link. You can select only from issues with type Initiative.

Then you should be able to see Child issues section in the Initiative issue, where all the children issues are visible (issues with type Epic)...

One parent can have multiple children...
