Empty Objects types when tying to create an Asset Dashboard

Alexandre Godin

Hi,

I'm trying to create an Asset Dashboard. When I select the schema, the Object Types list is empty, even though I have assets created in that schema.

I need help ... is it a permissions problem or is the functionnality bugged?

Thanks!

Hi @Alexandre Godin ,

This usually looks more like a configuration or permissions issue than something you are doing wrong in the widget itself.

If the Object Type dropdown is empty even though the schema clearly has object types, the first things I would check are whether you actually have access to those object types in Assets and whether the dashboard gadget is pointing to the correct schema. In some cases, the schema is visible, but the object types are not available to select because of permission restrictions or how the schema/object type is configured.

I would suggest checking these points:

make sure you have the right Assets permissions for that schema

confirm the schema is the correct one and fully accessible from your account

try with another schema or a simpler top-level object type to see if anything appears

check whether this happens for other users too, especially an admin

If an admin sees the same behavior, I would log it as a bug with Atlassian support.

If this helped, I’d appreciate an upvote.

Hi @Himanshu Tiwary ,

Thanks for answering.

I am an admin.

Do I still need to setup special Asset permissions or it should work regardless for admins?
