When someone adds a comment to a ticket, I receive a notification email with a "View work item" link/button. Clicking it takes me to the issue, but to a random comment about halfway through the list instead of the one having caused the notification.
When working on an issue with multiple comments/threads, it makes it quite difficult to find the one you want.
I'm running the latest Firefox, but colleagues on Safari and Chrome are having the same issue. Any ideas?
Interestingly, sometimes it works... I'm not sure if related, but I collapsed the estimation tool that we had, tried again without success, re-expanded the estimation tool, tried again and now I arrived at the right place. Tried via an email of another comment in the same ticket, didn't work.
WTH?
Hi Sascha,
If it says "View work item" then that is probably all it is doing - just going to the work item. It would be hard to know without seeing the url address of the link to know for sure where it is going.
You might want to open a support ticket with Atlassian though because this may indeed be a bug. Please post back here with the resolution/guidance for future readers.

Best of luck!
I checked the link hidden under "View work item" and this is what I had: https://aaaabbbbcccc.atlassian.net/browse/ABC-1234?focusedCommentId=21460&sourceType=mention
So this should take me to the comment, and it does... sometimes. I'll create a ticket, maybe it is a bug.

Hi!
That one should take you directly to the comment. And yes, check this with Atlassian.

Hi @Sascha
The Work item buttons isnt gonna take you to the comment. I haven't seen that behaviour.
For example:
https://atlassianurlhere.atlassian.net/jira-1?focusedCommentId=123123
That's how a comment link looks. But the button doesn't have that.
Also the button in the email doesn't show for comments, show for status change, automations, but not for comments from users.
Regards
