Editing one aspect of a Shared Configuration board

Deleted user May 1, 2019

I have a number of boards which were originally created with the Shared configuration option so all the boards in question have the same schemes for the most part.

As one team continues to mature we are exploring new needs in terms of issue types which aren't directly stories and this raises the question:

Can a JIRA Administrator change a number of configuration values for a Shared Configuration board without affecting the other boards which also depend on the config?

No.  A "share" means exactly what it says - there is one board, shared amongst many people.  If you change the configuration of that single board, of course it changes for everyone.

But if you have separate boards, then the configuration of them is entirely independent, barring one thing - it is possible to set up many boards against a single saved filter, so obviously, if you change that filter, you will affect every board using it.
