Editing form changed the question number

Tejas Patil

Hi Team,

We are using advanced forms in Jira. Yesterday I added few more options to the existing question. This removed the conditional logic for questions/ sections below also changed the question number ( from 50 to 144).

Is this expected behavior for the forms?

Thanks

Hi Tejas, I don't have a definitive answer but from what I've read,
each question in Jira Forms has its own internal "key" separate
from the number you see - so when you add new questions, the
numbering can shift even though the actual question keys stay the
same underneath.

If your conditional logic was set up referencing question numbers
directly rather than the underlying keys, that might explain why
it broke after you added new options. Might be worth checking if
the conditions are still pointing to the right questions after
the renumbering - sometimes they need to be manually reconnected.

Not 100% sure this is "expected" behavior though, could also be
worth flagging to Atlassian support if it keeps happening.
