Edit Issue: Epic Link // Can't get set value to work

Deleted user September 7, 2021

When an issue is created

  • And issue type = task
  • And label = [set value]

Then

  • Edit Issue
    • Epic Link = [set value]
  • Create 4 sub-tasks

The sub-tasks piece is working, updating the asignee, etc., however, I can't get the Epic Link piece to work. I've tried entering the Epic name, the Epic's issue #, the issue # & name -- what value is this field looking for?

Hi @[deleted] -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

As you appear to be using a company-managed project...

Your task issue connects to epics using the Epic Link field, and you may set that with the key (e.g. ABC-123) for that epic.

The epic name field you are trying to set only applies to an Epic issue type.

Kind regards,
Bill
