Hi guys,

I copied a board with the tickets, status etc to test the integration for a testing tool, however when i make changes to a ticket in the duplicate board, it also makes changes to the original board.

PLEASE HELP!

A board is a view of a set of issues.

If you change an issue, then any board showing that issue is going to show that the issue has changed.

Thanks Nic!

Is there a way to delete the duplicate board without deleting the original issues?

Hi Ayesha,

Boards in Jira are just a way to organise and visualise Issues. If I understand your question properly you've got two boards, but they both contain the same issues, so the updates you make to the issues will be visible in both boards.

If you want to test the integration you could set up a standalone sandbox Jira Instance or create a new project and copy the issues into the new project. to test the integration.

Hope this helps

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for your response, it makes a lot of sense.

Since there is no way to test integration on that duplicate board it doesn't make sense to keep it. Is there a way you would recommend on deleting that duplicate board?

I'm afraid if I delete that board, I might end up deleting all the work we've done on that original board.

Thanks in advance!

The way I created the other board was to Click on Copy board which i thought will bring the issues & I can work on testing integration on the duplicate but it doesn't seem to work like that :(
