We created a very large Jira Software Form in Jira Sandbox. Now we want to copy that form to another Jira Sandbox Project using the same custom fields. How could we perform this without having to copy all the properties manually?
Many thanks for your help: Michael
Hello and welcome to the community @Michael Pfannkuchen
in your case (Jira Software forms), there is no native way to copy/duplicate a form to another project, including Sandbox → Sandbox.
You can reuse the same custom fields (if they are already global/admin-created), but the form itself needs to be recreated in the target project.
The “copy form” feature you might have seen only applies to Jira Service Management forms, not Jira Software.
Zumindest nicht Nativ Out of the box und ohne Addons 🤠
Hi @Michael Pfannkuchen ,
I faced the same problem there’s no native option. You’ll have to recreate the form yourself, even in Sandbox.
If your custom fields are already present, you can simply remap them. That’s the fastest way.
If you’re doing this frequently, you might want to look at apps such as Deep Clone or Elements Copy & Sync.

Many thanks for your quick reply.
Fortunately most project configurations do follow, if you create a new project with the "Share settings with an existing project feature" option checked. Then, the recreation of the forms is a quick work indeed.
Best regards: Michael
