Due Date with Gmail integration auto populates 1970

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
Help. I have the integration with my email; however, the due date auto-populates to 1/1/1970. Ugh...I don't want to change it manually every time, and I hope I can change a setting so that it will be today's date and more easily managed.
