Due Date custom Field availability in JIRA

Neeraj Gupta July 27, 2017

While configuring a screen in JIRA, due date option is not coming.

Scenario:

I wanted a screen while that includes mandatory start date, due date field while moving a issue from todo to inprogress.

My first step - create screen with fields duedate and start date

both fields were not available, so I created two new custom field and added them to screen

My Second Step - add validator in workflow transition to make startdate and duedate mandatory

while adding parameter to validator there 2 duedate fields were available.

This is very confusing. Please help!

If you were not getting the due date on the initial screen edit, I suspect it was already on the screen - the option list has all fields already existing removed so you can't add them twice.

I would rename your custom due date field (Call it something slightly different that does not change the meaning, like "Due date" or "Due Date.").  Then you will be able to see which one you are working with.
