Does license renewal restrict major release or also minor updates?

Salem Korayem August 12, 2012

According to FAQ, 12 months post license purchase I have to renew to continue receiving support AND updates.

Which type of updates are restricted? minor version updates or major release? i.e. are we talking about major from v5 to v6 only or even minor updates like v5.1 > v5.2 etc..?

You can use any version released before the end of your license period. If your licence ends on the 10th September, and Atlassian releases 5.3.2 on the 11th, you can use anything up to 5.3.1

Thanks for the answer but that's just sad. What if v5.3.2 corrects bugs in v5.3.1, why don't I deserve such upgrade? this is lame.

I understand major release though. For example from v5.3.1 to v6 because usually that means tons of new features were added. That deserves a license renewal.
