Does anyone know whether Selected for Development exists in 'next-gen' Kanban Jira projects?

We moved from a 'classic' Jira project to a 'next-gen' project and noticed that there doesn't appear to be the Selected for Development feature by default in the Backlog view.

it works similarly. it isn't names S4D but you have a backlog and you drag issues from backlog to the active board and the issues remain in TO DO but show in left most column.
