Does a Jira Cloud / Bamboo Data Center link work properly when using different auth methods?

My organisation is looking into hooking up Jira Cloud with an on-prem Bamboo and Bitbucket data center version.
Would they need to use the same user authentication method for the integration to work properly? The idea is to make use of AD FS for Jira Cloud, but it looks like SAML isn't supported out of the box for Bamboo and Bitbucket DC version.

Hello @Nils Cant ,

Overall, you can't use Jira Software Cloud to manage your Bitbucket Data Center and Server users.  The Jia Cloud user will be granted access via an oAuth link, but the user base will be separated and the OAuth credentials in Jira Software Cloud are used to register the account to your Bitbucket instance.

Additional details on how the connection works can be seen in:

Earl
