Does Java/JRE version impacts JIRA ?

Raghavendra Amara
September 13, 2019

We are currently using JIRA 7.5.4 and we are on JIRA Server architecture.

We have Java 1.8.0.72 version on the server and we have to upgrade Java to ensure we dont have any vulnerabilities on our server.

Can you tell us what is the latest version of Java supported for JIRA 7.5.4 ?

Hi @Raghavendra Amara

For Jira 7.5 take a look here. It has the details. Also keep in mind that eventually you might be upgrading Jira as well. This page will list the platform requirements for each version.

As always test on staging instance first.

I hope it helps.
