Documentation for JIM Jira issue importers plugin

Martin Atanasov
February 5, 2025

Hi,
I saw that by using JIM it is possible be import issues in cloud instances with csv files. I wanted to see if there is a documentation of JIM or a public rest api so I can import large number of issues. However I cannot find the documentation, neither public apis. Can somebody please send me the link to it if it exists?

The Jira Issue Importers (JIM) plugin isn’t exposed publicly in Jira Cloud. It’s a built‑in system app that powers the CSV and JSON importers available under Jira Settings > System > External System Import in Data Center, but in Cloud that functionality is integrated directly into the platform rather than through a separate plugin. Atlassian doesn’t publish a REST API for JIM, and imports through it can only be done via the CSV import screen or through the Jira Cloud REST API for issue creation if you need to automate large‑scale imports.
