Do custom issue types work with the built-in jira agile reports

We created custom Issue types but they don't work with the built in agile reporting.  Does the built in agile reporting only work with the jira issue types?

Instead of using Epic- jira can I create a Feature issue type and will that work with the built in reporting?

Short answer, no this will not work.

So I have to use Epic - Jira issuetype?  That name would be confusing to our users because currently we have an Epic that is a parent to a Capability.  If you create a parent to the built -in issue type Jira - Epic will the reports work?  I would be adding additional issue types to the Hierarchy.

Epic

Capability

Feature

Story - DR
