Dear Community and Atlassian,

Each custom field has a field name, and a display description.

The display description is the accesses by pressing, or mouse-over on the info icon, the "i" in a circle.

So for a lot of fields it is enough that you write a little text in it, but for more complex fields with complex content, it would be nice to be able to have the info link to a confluence article, right now this does not seem possible.

I have several places on confluence where I explain to the user what exactly they should fill in, in this field, and how they should interpret the different dropdown selections available.

Ie. how should the user think here, in most cases it is easy for them, but in some cases it can be hard, and it would be a lot easier if in doubt, they can just click this link, and get to the confluence page, which explains how to fill this out, and what to be aware of, and take care of.

I hope this makes sense for you.

Best Regards :)

Welcome @Jarl Lundin Overbeck

You already answered your own question - putting the link within the description of your custom field. Just make sure that this is more a way of call to action, not just the link itself.

Another thing that you can do is including a shortcut in your Jira project that would be named something like Custom Field explanation.
