The company I am with wants to implement JIRA / Xray.
We started with a free account "A" and configured it and worked with it for a couple months proving it out. We are now ready to move it to production.
We later found that another instance of JIRA, "B", was found to have been created by another team but never really used. We want to delete Instance "B" which uses the company name.
We then want to rename the URL from instance "A" to what was used by JIRA instance "B" so that we can use the company name in the instance URL. We will then license this instance for a 100 users to start with.
How can we do this?
Hi @Earl Griffin,
It might be a better idea to create a backup of instance A and restore it into instance B. That should keep the name of instance B, but entirely overwrite it with the contents and settings from your backup.
The procedure is described in this support article. Don't hesitate to reach out to Atlassian Support if you think you need additional advice/support in the process. You can also request them to delete your old A instance after the process is complete.
