Hello @EA
Go to Settings → System → Admin Helper → Permission Helper
Select:your user - the affected subtask - Delete work items
You will see directly why you can´t delete it.
Being admin doesn´t mean you have also Permission.
In a company-managed Jira Cloud project, you should be able to delete a subtask if your account has the Delete issues permission.
Try this:
Open the parent issue.
Open the subtask itself.
Click the ••• More actions menu.
Select Delete and confirm.
If Delete is not available, check whether you are actually a Jira administrator or only a project administrator. In company-managed projects, deletion is controlled through the project’s permission scheme.
On the Free plan, permission schemes cannot be customized, so you may need to check the existing permissions or upgrade if you need more control. Also, make sure you are opening the subtask directly rather than trying to delete it from the parent issue.
If deletion is still unavailable, changing the subtask status to Cancelled or Won’t Do can be a safer alternative than deleting it permanently.
