Defect to Test Case Bidirectional Linking

Hello @ssolank  As you are aware of the Zyephyr is an third party app. and when it comes to tests related linking, both Xray and Zephyr works differently than Jira.

So, if you are trying to link ( talking about zephyr linking mechanism) Test Case and Defect, i suggest to use work item linking.

It would be good if you can share the snaps how & what you to achieve then it will be good for all the community members to help you.

Just to add some context here, based on Zephyr's documentation, when a defect is associated during testing, the relationship is created against the test execution (or an individual test execution step), rather than necessarily as a standard Jira work item link directly between the Defect and Test Case. 👀

Zephyr does, however, provide a Traceability section on Jira work items which can show the test cases, cycles, plans, and execution information associated with that work item.

One thing I would therefore check is whether your Defect/Bug work item type is enabled for Zephyr, as SmartBear notes that the Traceability panel is only displayed for work item types enabled for the app.

You can open a case with the Zephyr support team through the SmartBear Zephyr Support Center. I'd probably recommend reaching out to them and seeing what they have to say. 🤔

I've only worked with Zephyr once, and we do have a guy who's more into test management than me..
