Default (new) status when changing issue type?

When moving / changing an issue from say story to task or vis-versa, the new target status appears random.

One can select/specify the new target status but the default in the dialog that many users accepts varies.

Is there logic behind this behavior

Can the default target status behavior be configured - such as default status for create when changing issue type?

Hi @Owen Guion,

From what I have seen with this it appears to use the first status for the status category that matches the state the use was in before changing it.

By this I mean if you notice that some states are "Blue" while others are "Yellow" or "Green", these map to the status categories of "To Do", "In Progress" & "Done" respectively.

From what I have seen if you had an issue that was in a "Yellow" status, it will suggest the a "Yellow" status that is available in the target workflow.

Personally, I rarely accept the suggestions as I know exactly what I intend to do.
