Default components per project?

Is there a way to set default components so they are inherited across all newly created projects similary to like scheme settings or issue types etc..?

You can use Project Creator for JIRA ( https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.wittified.jira.project-creator) to do it. It will allow you to set up multiple templates for the components, versions etc.

There is no way to do that in JIRA now. You will have to write a plugin to copy the components across or use CLI plugin to do the same.
