Data Residency in KSA region

Hi,

One of our middle eastern client has a requirement of moving their Jira and Confluence cloud instance within KSA region. This is as per the regulatory norms of the company. Can someone please help understand if Atlassian supports Data Residency in KSA/ Middle East?

In case of it not being supported, what is the roadmap ahead for middle eastern enterprises?

Here is the current supported data residency in the Atlassian Cloud environment:

Based on the comment from the Atlassian team back in June 2024, it is not part of their roadmap at the moment:

As  checked, Data Center and AWS Regions , UAE is not listed as its not available yet.

Upon further checking there is a feature request in place to have Data residency/AWS Locations in UAE location which you can track at:

• CLOUD-11622 : Data Residency for UAE region

Atlassian doe not currently support data residency in KSA or the broader Middle East region for Jira or Confluence Cloud. Here's a list of currently supported data residency locations: Understand data residency / What are locations and AWS regions? 

From what I managed to find, there's no official timeline or guarantee for when KSA (or near regions) will be supported. However, here's a feature request related to data residency in UAE region: CLOUD-11622: Data Residency for UAE region > I'd suggest leaving a vote and commenting about/client your requirements.
