Customizing email notifications

Is there a way to decide when an email notification for a change on an issue is sent to me? For example, I don´t need to receive it if the change is on the Version fields, but I do want to recive it if the change is on the Description or the status.

Jira doesn't provide that level of control. The notification scheme is triggered by certain actions, edit in this case, and actions fired during a transition.

ok, thanks, bummer. Would you be willing to consider it for your roadmap of future improvements? I now have to create my own email rules upon receiving them in order to be alerted of what I really need to see and ignore the rest.
