Customize jira interface / look and feel

I would like to know if it is possible to hide menu items such as

"Dashboard"
"Apps"
"Switch to"

or to use groups to determine who can see them. In our local Jira instance we solved this via CSS and Javascript, this doesn't seem to work anymore.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

No, there's no way to downgrade the Jira UI like this. Those links are there for a reason - to make it easier for a user to find their way around.
