in a card, i would like to add a field of type select that would be the list of organization that are configured in jira service management. the user could then select the organization from that list. that will prevent us to have to create the organization in both places. is that possible ?

Welcome to the community.

If organizations are used in the JSM spaces, on the portal this select option is already visible when creating a request from the portal.

Then the field organzations is also used on the screen(s) of the work type.

Then the same field is used with the same values.

Does this make sence, otherwise provide screenshots on what you currently see.

The Organizations field isn’t a standard select list—it’s a special JSM field that already lets you pick from existing organizations. However, Jira doesn’t support using those organizations as options in a custom select list, so you can’t replicate that behavior natively.
