Custom fields with selectable "generic trigger notification"

I have noticed that as result of the execution of automation rules when a custom field is edited then a generic notification to watchers is triggered.

Is there a way to avoid to get notifications from some custom fields or select which fields trigger notifications on each automation rule?

In terms of turning off notifications, there is a checkbox by default in "More options" to control sending notifications. While you cannot turn this off by field, it's possible to have 2 edit field actions with one sending email notifications and the other not.
