Custom field paragraph no toolbar Jira Cloud

Hi,

I have two custom fields of type Paragraph (supports rich text) in Jira Cloud. One was created a long time ago and works correctly — it shows the full rich text toolbar (bold, bullets, links, etc.). The second one was created a few days ago with the exact same field type, but it only shows a plain text editor with no toolbar.

My setup:

• Jira Cloud, Company-managed project (Jira Software)
• Both fields: Paragraph (supports rich text)
• Both fields have identical context configuration: Default Configuration Scheme, Global (all work items)
• Both fields are added to the same screen

What I have already tried:

• Hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R)
• Removing the field from the screen and re-adding it
• Waited several days — still no toolbar
• Checked field contexts — identical to the working field
• There is no renderer option available in Jira Cloud to change

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to force the rich text editor to appear on a newly created Paragraph field?

This is no longer valid - you cannot change the renderer anymore.

Hi Bianca,

Can you share some screenshots? Also, are both fields in the same Field Configuration? Not the same scheme, but the actual same Field Configuration?
