Custom Fields - enable history search

I need to be able to query when a custom field was changed and I am getting back this error message:

"History searches do not support the 'Verified By' field.

I need to be able to do History Searches on this custom field. How do I enable that functionality?

Jira doesn't have a custom field history. All the field changes are stored in the Jira history.

For that you need a plugin like this one:

Or you can go to the affected Jira issue and check the history of the changes at the bottom.
