Custom Field User Picker Default to Current User

Hi,

I’m trying to set a custom field user picker to default to the current user. 95% of what my project needs does not require any scripting or addons. Unfortunately, from what I have read online, it looks like I will need to use ScriptRunner to do this. I say unfortunately only because I'm completely new to the addons. I just started using JIRA a week ago, so as you can imagine, I'm really new to everything. If someone could point me in the right direction for this, I would really appreciate it.
