Custom Backlog Views per User

Question

Hello,

I am a PO / PM for a SaaS company, and one of the things I struggle with is how my engineers prefer to see things, and how I PERSONALLY like to manage and see things when I am managing our backlog.

I was curious, is there a way to make custom views per user, so I can see this first view, and my engineers can see the second one (with labels and status)?

Jira is the literal definition of bloatware. Just placing this sentence on the same page as anything talking about Jira is nearly enough to make the universe implode in protest. If you look up "simple" in a dictionary, the first definition will say "Absolutely not Jira" in 200-pt bold type. The developers of Jira have all been trained to eliminate all variants of the words "simple", "efficient", and "fast" (and their synonyms) from their vocabularies, and simply replace every occurrence of any such word with the word "enterprise" instead. It is "Enterprise Software" with a capital E. Jira abides only by the first definition of "enterprise" which is summarized by "...is difficult or requires effort". Jira is like a gas - it expands to fill all available space (and CPU cycles, and memory)...

No, the point of Jira is to allow the customer to customize it.

Why should every user be forced to use the same view? This applies to everything - including things like ticket creation and viewing. If I want to hide or show certain fields, I should not need an admin to do it and then force everyone to use the same settings.

It's amazing how needlessly complex Jira makes things that should be simple, only to then lack the most basic customization at the user level.

The whole point of a backlog is that the team sees the whole thing in the same way.

So there's no way to do this.
