I can't seem to find a place to contact the Jira support team, if anybody can look into this at the earliest, please. It's a bit urgent.

I was able to check that it was happening only to the old view and working as expected on the new view.
The issue was reported as a bug and it was already fixed:

Please, let us know if you face any issue regarding the mention on the old view.
