Hi Team,
Our organization is a highly compliance medical company.
On Oct 15, 2023, I ran a Jira Software tool validation test report for BUG tracking purposes.
In the Test Report, I must mention which version of Jira Software tests are run.
May I know What is the current Jira Software client version?
How did I know the current Jira Software client version from JiraSW UI?
Hello @Suvarna Vellanki
The answer provided by @Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_ applies only to Jira Server and Jira Data Center.
For Jira Cloud you can use a REST API to get the information:
https://<your base URL>/rest/api/3/serverInfo
Note though that the "version" element in the output appears to remain unchanged while Atlassian is pushing updates out to Cloud instances on a daily or weekly basis. The more relevant information in the output is "buildNumber" and "buildDate".
Hi Trudy,
Thanks for your reply. Current server info comes correctly with API.we executed one of the test protocols on Sep 14th, 2023. For that we need to capture the build version details. May I know which API works best for us?

I am not aware of any method for you to obtain version/build information for your instance for a date in the past.
Your Jira Administrator could try opening a support case directly with Atlassian to see if they can provide that information.

You can find the version in the UI at the bottom of the page or in the About Jira button (same location)
And under Administration -> System -> System support > System Info -> Versions
Viewing your system information

Thanks for the quick reply. Aaron.
We are on the standard plan of Jira software and didn't have Jira Administration.
How we can see the Jira version?
