Created new JIRA board in existing project with 2 other boards moved active sprints to new board

Sunita Mathew July 26, 2021

hi,

We have existing project with 2 boards with active sprints  happening in parallel with different teams associated with them.

I had to create new board for 3rd stream of work that needs to get started with different team.

Created a New Board with option "Board from an existing project" the board got created but it shows the active sprint for the other 2 boards.

I wanted this to be a blank board. How do I undo this. and restore the active sprints to their rightful owner boards?

Thanks

Sunita

No, that is not what happened.

Boards are not containers for issues or sprints.  They are a view of a selection of issues, and they'll show sprints when they apply to the issues that may be selected by the board.

Nothing "moved", nothing changed, you just created a board that happens to show existing sprints.

If you want a blank board, you need to use a board filter that does not select any existing issues.

Thank you! you are right a new board is just a view that shows information based on the query.

I reviewed the query and modified to filter for a specific labels.  This removed the data from the view I was seeing in my board from the other boards as they have different labels.

So now I have a blank board and have created a new label specific to this particular board so I can see anything new that will be created only with this specific labels.

project = WB3 AND labels = mkt ORDER BY Rank ASC
